Sisters Quilt Show info is out!

011

The Sisters Outdoor Quilt show takes place on the second Saturday in July.  The week before is full of quilt classes and lots of other events to make a quilter's heart go pitty-pat.  I got my Quilter's Affair brochure yesterday and it's going to be fantastic this year!  Gwen Marston and Freddy Moran are coming again.  Come hell or high water I will be in at least one of Gwen's classes this year.

Also, the Gee's Bend Quilters are coming!  Woohoo!  In fact, the quilt block contest this year will be a selection of Kaffe Fassett shot cotton solids with the intention of creating a block with all solids in the manner of the Gee's Bend quilters.  Just my style!  Anyone can participate in the contest even if you won't be here for the show.  They are doing an evening program and showing some of their quilts on Saturday as well.

The quilt theme contest is called "The Power of Red".  Red is one of my favorite quilt colors.  I need to think on this to see if I can come up with something to make and enter (time may be my biggest problem here).

They are having the Wish Upon a Card postcard fundraiser again.  While looking at that I noticed there is a link to a page of the juried cards from last year and my three are there.  I guess I didn't even realized they were juried.  Sounds so official doesn't it?

Check out the info at the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show site and do let me know if you sign up for anything.  It would be so great to get together with my bloggy friends!

They don't have the Quilter's Affair classes on line yet, but they should be up in a few days.  They do have lots of other info about the week up though.

PS:  That's the second of my Fungly quilts all ready for hand quilting.  It's another smallish one.  I think I will be tying the large one.  This one will be next after I finish the LOVE letters quilt.
