I was poking around on the Schoolhouse Press website and found that there is a Christmas stocking knitalong with pattern written and provided for free from Meg Swansen (daughter of the amazing Elizabeth Zimmermann)! It's definitely worth a look. I'm printing it out for possible future use. Eli's Christmas Stocking has a very pretty Fair Isle Design with trees, snowflakes, hearts, flowers and room for a name. Since Meg is knitting it in real time you have to check back every week to see what's up.
I also love this Zakka Style Owl Pennant tutorial I found by way of the Handmade Holidays site. Moonstitches is a lovely blog and the owls would be great in holiday colors or for every day.
